Dr. Shirley-Portia Kaburise (female doctor)
Dr. Shirley-Portia Kaburise is a well-rounded and compassionate Family Physician committed to holistic, patient-centred care. With clinical work experience across South Africa, Ireland and England, she had the privilege of supporting individuals from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Her areas of special interest include Dermatology, Women’s Health and Lifestyle Medicine.
She is dedicated to preventative care and evidence based medical practice in the management of acute and chronic health conditions, taking the time to educate patients and empower them as active partners in their own health journey.
Now continuing her career in Canada, she is committed to supporting continuity of care within community family practice, promoting early intervention and lifestyle focused management as well as providing inclusive healthcare for underserved populations.

Dr. Kaburise will begin seeing patients in March 2026, with clinic availability from Monday to Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Dr. Ali Khan Niazi (male doctor)
Dr. Ali Khan Niazi is a dedicated family physician providing compassionate, patient-centered care for individuals and families of all ages. He has a strong focus on preventive care, chronic disease management, and building long-term relationships based on trust and open communication.
With an international medical background, Dr. Niazi brings a diverse perspective to his practice. He is fluent in English, Hindi, and Urdu, allowing him to connect with patients from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and ensure clear, comfortable communication.

Dr. Niazi will begin seeing patients in February 2026, with clinic availability from Monday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Welcoming Our New Family Physician –
Dr. Adelaide Duku (female doctor)
Malvern Medical Centre is delighted to welcome Dr. Adelaide Duku, our newest permanent family physician. Dr. Duku joins us from the United Kingdom, where she has practiced for several years and built a strong reputation for her compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
Warm, attentive, and dedicated, Dr. Duku is known for making patients feel heard and supported. We are confident she will be a wonderful addition to our team and community.
Beginning December 3rd, Dr. Duku will take over the patient roster of Dr. Thillaivasen permanently and she is taking in new patients.

Important Update: Prescription Refill Policy
At Malvern Medical Centre, our priority is ensuring that patients receive timely and appropriate medical care. As part of this commitment, we want to inform you about a potential $20 prescription refill fee, which may apply at your physician’s discretion.

Why is there a fee?
Prescription refills require time for review to ensure they are appropriate and safe. While some refills can be completed without a visit, others require a more in-depth assessment. The fee helps cover the administrative and clinical time involved in processing these requests.

What are my options?
If you prefer not to pay the fee, you can schedule an appointment with your doctor for a no-cost refill. If you choose this option, please cancel your refill request and book a visit instead.
If your request is urgent and you cannot see your physician, you can visit our After Hours Clinic, which is available to all Malvern patients who have met their family doctor.

Processing Time
Please allow 2-3 business days for refill requests. Requests may take longer during holidays or office closures.

Emergency Situations
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please visit your nearest emergency department.
